Q: Do i need a damper?

A: This is totally up to you. If you do open and close the flow of air on your covers often, then you should get a damper. If you don't ever adjust the flow of air on your covers then it is likely not necessary.

Q: How do I adjust the damper?

A: The damper is adjustable using a flat head screwdriver.

    Charleston metal vent cover

Published by Susan Goetz on 14th Sep 2020

I love the styling and quality of this item. At $250 it was pretty pricey, and I expected to at least have a nob or lever to open and close this. Doing these things is a major deal as they are in our ceiling. To open and close the vents, which we need to do twice a day, we need a step ladder, a screwdriver and a flashlight to even see the little slot that you have to put the screwdriver in to turn. Not very user friendly. Otherwise, design and styling are very nice.
