Frequently Asked Questions
Will these baseboard covers fit my heater?
Our baseboard heater covers are designed to fit 95% of standard hydronic (hot water) baseboard heaters. They slip over your existing metal backplate and heating element with no tools required. Before purchasing, use our Hydronic Retrofitting Guide to ensure compatibility with your current setup.
Can your covers be used on electric baseboard heaters?
Only our DEMI electric baseboard covers are compatible with electric heaters. Our wood and metal covers are not safe for use with electric baseboard heaters, as they can present a fire risk. Always check your heater type before ordering.
How do I order a custom cut baseboard cover?
If your heater is slightly longer than a standard panel (more than 3" over), simply order the next size up and write your exact required length (in inches) in the “Need a custom cut length?” box on the product page. We’ll cut it to size at no extra charge. Please note: custom cut panels are final sale and non-returnable.
How do I cover a baseboard heater longer than 8 feet?
To cover heaters longer than 8 feet, order multiple panels and connect them using a coupler. For example, a 10′ heater can be covered with two 5′ panels and one coupler. Use our Heater Lengths Guide to determine the ideal panel combination for any longer length.
How do I measure for L-shaped baseboard heaters?
For L-shaped or corner baseboard layouts, measure from the inside corner to the outer edge, then subtract 3 inches to account for the overlapping panel depth. Do this for both the left and right sides. The final lengths should reflect the adjusted measurement. For a visual guide, visit our Measurement Guide.
Do your covers block heat?
No. Our covers are engineered for performance. Vented perforations and a raised bottom gap allow cold air to circulate up through the finned tube element and out into the room. Independent testing confirms that they maintain or even improve heat output compared to rusted or clogged original covers.
Are the baseboard covers safe for kids?
Yes. Our one-piece metal design prevents small fingers, flammable toys, or debris from reaching the hot metal fins underneath. While the covers do get warm, they reduce direct contact with sharp or hot surfaces, making them a safer alternative in homes with children or pets.
Do I need wall brackets?
Wall brackets are only required if the original metal backplate has been removed, if your heater sits lower than 7.25" from the floor, or if you’re installing over an electric heater. If your original backplate is intact, you don’t need wall brackets — just slip the cover over it. Shop wall brackets.
Can I paint the baseboard covers?
Yes. All covers come in a durable white powder-coated finish, but you can paint them to match your walls or trim. We recommend using a spray or roll-on enamel paint. A primer is optional but helps ensure a smooth, even finish. For wood covers, use an interior-grade paint or stain of your choice.
What’s your return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for most items in new, unused condition. A 15% restocking fee applies. Custom cut panels, samples, and made-to-order items are final sale and not eligible for return. Shipping charges are non-refundable. For full terms, view our Returns Policy.
